I’m back ! ………….. and an open secret

Hi, folks, back after a long pujo-break, all charged up !

And u know, there are certain things which happen only in West bengal. Ya, I am talking about the riz-priyanka-todi circus. Man, everyone knows everything, dat Ashok todi hired goondas to kill Rizwanur, got his body planted on railway track in a very novice manner, and now silencing the persons who can cause trouble for him. Even what the CBI is doing sometimes seems influenced. So now everyone guessed ( and i can tell with 120% surety dat rightly) the actual fact. And even the red-colored gov in wb seems involved ( they are the biggest bullies in da state, involved in all heinous crimes, and oppressing continuously). The fact is, as this is a case involving minority sentiments, it is being made to dag along for so long, otherwise it had been buried under umpteen files by now.

Sometimes it feels so angry yet handicapped. I know many are feeling so at da moment, but very less have da guts to speak out about it, including that train-driver who changed his statement, saying he hit a body, instead of he dint see anything, as he said earlier, including dat pappu man, famil frnd of rizwanurs, who took money from todi but now refuses to concede it. And nothing to say about da todis, as they bave built their whole empire on deceits and crimes and betrayals like this. This class of da society never has a hint of humane conscience.

Please pray for the justice.

( Fr muggles, this is a story set in kolkata, of a muslim ‘ garib ‘ boy, Rizwanur, nd a girl, priyanka, daughter of a titanic industrialist, Ashok Todi, owner of lux industries. They married against the girl’s family’s wish, nd after some days, the boy is found dead on a rail-track, face up, but back of head totally smashed, and gashes in throat nd left cheek, and virtually injuryless otherwise. Every person who saw his body is skeptical ’bout da suicide story dat has been formulated, nd da battle is going on, currently a CBI team investigating. )

Above average……..

I MIGHT NOT BE GOOD LOOKING BUT I AM DEFINITELY ABOVE AVERAGE ……….
Yeah, right you are, Amitabha Bagchi. This book has a pretty touching comment in this line of thought, ” Accustomed all our lives to being lauded as exceptional, we were all scared that the true measure of ourselves, our unremarkable selves, would emerge one day. ……. My fear of being unexceptional was inextricably linked to a deep desire to be accepted as ordinary. The averageness that I was ashamed of showing became my most intimate friend. I started thinking that those people who were in touch with their inner ordinariness even while they went about the business of self-aggrandizement, which was the business of survival itself, were fundamentally okay. Those people were, somehow, more likely to survive the the trials life was to bring. ”
The author, AB, tells da story of a delhi-walla bengali boy, of his home, his own locality mayur vihar, of the IIT-delhi where he graduates with comp-sc, and a little of US where he goes for PhD. The center of gravity is in da IIT, of course. And more specially, this book is about da subtle chemistry dat flows among friends, especially in the college-hostel life. Probably dat is why I can connect with da characters.
Well, well, u also get a true feeling of the typical dilli-waale lingo, overflowing with expletives, and the special phrases used only by iit-insiders, like ‘palo’-ing, meaning lolling around in free time, and the (seemingly) very very unlikely antics of the iit boys. This book is about feelings, and da little realizations they sometimes bring to us. The author has been honest to his readers throughout, and this slightly largish collection of many a short nuggets of stories.
